Fish Welfare Rules
FISH WELFARE RULES
1 No rod to be left unattended.
2 No live baiting on club waters.
3 All fish must be landed by a net.
4 All fish unhooked on the bank must be unhooked on an unhooking mat.
5 Large landing nets and large unhooking mats must be used for Carp, Pike and Catfish. Standard unhooking mats to be used for all other fish unhooked on the bank.
6 Catfish MUST NOT be retained in Carp sacks. Catfish tunnels or very large keepnets are acceptable for short periods as long as they are staked out correctly.
7 All fish to be retained in a keepnet of Environment Agency specifications.
8 No fish over 6lb to be put in a keepnet unless waiting for a club scalesman.
9 Retaining of specimen carp must be via a carp sack and for a limited time only.
10 Semi-barbed trebles only to be used for Pike.
11 Dead baiting for Pike is NOT allowed between 1st May and 30th SEPTEMBER inclusive.
12 Single hooks only to be used for Catfish.
13 All fish must be returned to the water.
