GENERAL RULES
 
1 Members to observe the Close Season, where applicable, and all Environment Agency bylaws.
2 Membership cards and a current Environment Agency rod licence must be carried when fishing on club waters. All members have the right to challenge any person found fishing club waters.
3 All persons under the age of 16 (i.e. a junior member) must be accompanied by an adult, who is also a member and all such juniors must be members.
4 All vehicles must be parked in the places provided, or in a position where they cause no obstruction and must have an official parking permit on display in a prominent position. Details of parking facilities are to be found in the rear of this book under the heading CLUB WATERS.
5 The Club shall not be liable to members for any inconvenience, loss or damage wheresoever or howsoever caused to any member’s equipment or member’s vehicle brought upon the fisheries, or upon any premises controlled by the Club.
6 All fish must be landed by a net.
7 All fish must be returned to the water.
8 The use of obscene language is strictly forbidden.
9 No angler shall under any circumstances be accompanied by a dog, carry a gun, approach or leave the waters by any other route than by the recognised footpaths, nor shall he or she make use of a radio unless it is a personalised radio i.e. with earphones, while in the vicinity of the club waters. Great care must be taken not to disturb game or to cause inconvenience to, the property of the owner who grants the members fishing rights.
10 No gates to be left unfastened, no growing crops of any kind to be crossed.
11 No fences or hedges will be cut, displaced or damaged.
12 No litter to be left about, members will be held responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate area from which they are fishing whether the litter is their own or not.
13 No person will have in their possession any metal cans whist fishing in club waters, i.e. sweetcorn, luncheon meat etc.
14 No lead weights under 1oz to be used.
15 No live baiting on club waters.
16 No alteration or rectification of banks or bank sides without consent of the committee.
17 No rod to be left unattended.
18 Only two rods to be used at any one time, regardless of the number of rod licences held. (see Rule 19 for exceptions)
19 Three rods can be used on all club waters from 1st October to 31st March inclusive. Two valid E.A. rod licences are required, plus a yearly permit obtained from the secretary. New members, juniors and guests are not eligible. Anyone found abusing this privilege or fishing irresponsibly will have his or her membership withdrawn.
20 No angler to occupy more than one swim with any item of tackle at waters edge.
21 The use of a bivouac on any club water is strictly forbidden with the exemption of Ramsey Brook, Home Farm and St. Osyth.
22 No fish over 6lb to be put in a keepnet unless waiting for a club scalesman.
23 All fish unhooked on the bank must be unhooked on an unhooking mat.
24 Retaining of specimen carp must be via a carp sack and for a limited time only.
25 Match waters concerned are closed to all members from midnight on the day prior to day matches and midday for evening matches
26 The committee reserves the right to suspend or confiscate the membership card of any member not complying with the club rules or whose conduct is prejudicial to the wellbeing of this club and no refund of club fees will be made.
