Description
This newly created 8 acre irrigation lake is located in the village of Ardleigh, just off the A137 to Manningtree and is still an unknown quantity (basic map given in membership package).
The lake is fishable from all banks (no designated swims) apart from a roped off area due to overhead power cables. The depth ranges from 3 foot in the margins deepening to 30 foot in the middle.
There is heavy weed growth in the summer months making good cover in the margins in clear water conditions.
The lake holds a small head of resident specimen Carp (common and mirror) and the club has recently introduced a small number of Tench and Bream along with 10 Wels Catfish of around 10lb.
There is reasonable access for people with limited mobility along two banks.
